Manasquan After Winter Storm Jonas
After a little over 24 hours of a historic Nor'easter blizzard, the beach was looking pretty beautiful and rather resilient today. Lots of sand and snow drifts, particularly at the south end, but nothing we haven't seen before. There was some pretty bad flooding around high tides yesterday and a bit this morning in the low lying areas inland from the beach. I think the town did a remarkable job both protecting residents and resources and keeping everyone informed via various social media avenues and AM radio broadcasts; you guys are getting really good at this!
I'll be out mapping tomorrow around low tide to see how the beach actually held up and just how much sand was lost to erosion.
There are a few shots from today for sale at the store too.
